The environmental disasters, or events caused or encouraged by human activity, are the subject of heated debate in Italy. Only in the fall in 2011 there have been floods in the Lunigiana and La Spezia, Genova and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Meri and Saponara. It was confirmed that in addition to the bad government of the territory were the exceptional rainfall to cause these three events. So it was not for the Vajont disaster, which was ranked as the worst example of land and environment management by ONU in 2008. This was one of the reasons that drove me, nearly 50 years after the disaster of 9th October, 1963, to face as the final thesis project for the territory of the Vajont.
